Tickets to the Oct. 27 “An Evening with David Sedaris,” the first event in the re-established Distinguished Writers Series at
, go on sale at noon Wednesday, Sept. 1. Students can get the ultimate deal – a $10 ticket – by showing their current Chapman University Student ID in person at the Chapman Auditorium box office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning at noon Sept. 1. All other tickets are $40.
Sedaris is the author of several books and unforgettable essays heard on
, including the legendary piece about his stint as a holiday elf at Macy’s. Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in
The New Yorker
and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” His newest book, a collection of fables entitled
Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary
(with illustrations by Ian Falconer), will be published in September. The humorist will read his work and answer questions beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 27 and stay for a book signing to follow at 9:30 p.m.
