Chapman University’s
Distinguished Writers Series will present bestselling author
David Sedaris
on Wednesday, October 27 at 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall.   Tickets will go on sale soon at $40 for the general public, $10 for students – more ticketing details, including contact information and on-sale date, will be announced as they are finalized.

Hailed as “the preeminent humorist of his generation” (
Entertainment Weekly

Ba
rrel Fever
and
Holidays on Ice
, as well as the collections of personal essays
Naked,

Me Talk Pretty One Day,

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim
and
When You Are Engulfed in Flames,
each of which became a bestseller.

There are 7 million copies of his books in print, and they have been translated into 25 languages.  He was the editor of
Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories
.  Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in
The New Yorker
and have twice been included in
The Best American Essays.
His newest book, a collection of fables titled
Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary
(with illustrations by Ian Falconer), is set for release this fall.
