Opera Chapman lights up stage with Mozart's randy romp

Forget reality television this weekend. Go see Opera Chapman perform Mozart’s comic
Cosi fan tutte.

“Cosi fan tutte
is a madcap comedy about couple swapping. Even back in the 1780s they were dealing with that subject. It’s one of Mozart’s great treasures … Two young men and their girlfriends have an older gentleman friend and he convinces the guys that not only their girlfriends but all women, if put in the right situation, are unfaithful. And they, of course, get very upset about that,” says Peter Atherton, Ph.D., associate professor, College of Performing Arts, Conservatory of Music, and artistic director for the production.

There are still tickets available for weekend performances, but advance sales have closed so allow time to buy tickets prior to performances.

The box office opens one hour before each performance. Performances include tonight and Saturday, April 24, at 8 p.m., and again Sunday, April 25, at 3 p.m. All performances are in Memorial Hall.
