"Women in Focus 2010" Will Honor Women in TV

The Chapman community is invited to the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts’ 8th Annual Women in Focus Conference on Friday, April 30 at 1:30 in the Folino Theater in Marion Knott Studios, with a mixer to follow — a chance to talk to the panelists informally — on the Knott Studios sound stage. This year the Women in Focus Conference will feature influential women in television. The conference is designed to encourage dialogue between women who enjoy successful careers in the industry and those who are just starting out, like many of our Dodge College students. This year’s moderator for the day is Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment. Confirmed panelists include Emmy award-winning writer and producer Anne Beatts (Saturday Night Live, Square Pegs, A Different World), television series developer Kim Fleary (Everybody Hates Chris, Home Improvement, The Drew Carey Show), award-winning writer and producer Felicia Henderson (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Moesha, Soul Food: The Series), producer and developer Danica Krislovich (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Rock N Jock Basketball, Rock N Jock Softball), director Lesli Linka Glatter (Weeds, Mad Men, ER, House M.D., The Mentalist, Freaks and Geeks, Twin Peaks), director and producer Lee Shallat-Chemel (Gilmore Girls, Murphy Brown, Family Ties), and producer Jessica Borsiczky (FlashForward). The event is co-sponsored by Kodak, and Women in Film will join Dodge College in presenting the Meredith MacRae Scholarship Prize.
