The Chapman University Sociology Department presents “Vive Haiti!” a teach-in benefit that will let audience members learn about the historical, social, and political context of Haiti through performance, film and a lecture. The event, which takes place Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall, aims to raise both awareness and funds for Haitian earthquake relief.
The lecture will be given by Robin Derby, Ph.D., UCLA associate professor of modern Latin American and Caribbean history – $5 donation suggested. All proceeds will go to Partners in Health, the largest rural healthcare Provider in Haiti.
