The art of sharing Chapman's permanent collection

The Phyllis and Ross Escalette Permanent Collection of Art has 11 new friends. No, not on Facebook — on campus. Art-loving members of the American Association of University Women got an up-close look at some of the more than 400 works in the Chapman collection during a tour on Monday. Curator Maggi Owens and assistant to the curator David Lee offered their insights during stops in Beckman Hall, the Fish Interfaith Center and elsewhere on campus. Alumna Carol Fizzard, MA reading ’93, contacted Owens after reading about the collection in Chapman Magazine. “My group could not stop commenting what a wonderful tour we had and how gracious and knowledgeable you two were,” Fizzard said in an e-mail to Owens.  “It was one of our most successful trips in all aspects. We definitely want to return.” If you know of groups who might like a tour, e-mail mowens@chapman.edu or dlee@chapman.edu. And BTW, the collection is also on Facebook, so check it out and become a friend.
